Two Prayers the Prophet Never Abandoned

Hadith of the Day is a daily feature highlighting timeless sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut), offering insights into faith, ethics, and spirituality for contemporary life.

Hawzah News Agency- Abu al-Qasim Abd Allah ibn Ahmad al-Faqih narrated from Ali ibn Abdul-Aziz, who narrated from Amr ibn Awn, who narrated from Khalaf ibn Abdullah, from Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani, from Abdur-Rahman ibn al-Aswad, from his father, from A’ishah that she said:

صَلَاتَانِ لَمْ یَتْرُکْهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلّی الله علیه و آله سِرّاً وَ عَلَانِیَهً رَکْعَتَیْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ وَ رَکْعَتَیْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ.

There are two prayers that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh and his family) never abandoned, neither in secret nor in public: two rak’ahs after the Asr prayer, and two rak’ahs before the Fajr prayer.
